Starting from the Flabouri mountain refuge (1154m), we set off for the Xerovouni peak of Parnitha, which is located at an altitude of 1,120m. Descending the path that leads to the water source of Kyra and then on the forest road, we head towards the water source of Koromilia.
From there we continue until we reach the beginning of the path that leads us to the Xerovouni peak. After enjoying the unlimited view in all directions, the Euboikos with the peak of Dirfis standing out, the lake of Marathon up to Schinias coast, and resting, we take the way back. A relatively easy route that the whole family can participate in.
After this we return to the Flambouri refuge where we can have a drink or eat and relax with a view of Athens.
Tip: Remember to dress appropriately and check the temperature. In Parnitha the temperature is 5-6 degrees lower than in the city of Athens.
Note: The top of Xerovouni is occasionally affected by strong winds – especially in the winter months. There will be an update on a case-by-case basis.
